Our Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

Scofield Historic Lighting is committed to the creation of beautiful handcrafted lighting, designed to last for generations, by using authentic, natural materials and thoughtful workmanship.

Manufacturing Process

All of our products are designed, fabricated and finished in our workshops in New England.

All metal scrap is recycled as well as paper and packaging. Our patina operation utilizes an engineered closed-loop system, generating little to no waste. Casein paints, used on our wooden turnings, are 100% environmentally friendly.

Our fixtures are constructed from tin plated steel and copper sheets. There is an international scrap market for both materials and it is highly probable that our sheets of metal were formed from post-industrial content.

All fixtures are low wattage. Some fixture designs will allow for energy efficient CFL bulbs.

If the power goes off, we can still get your order out. We utilize tools and techniques from the 1800’s to create our designs. They are hand-cut and formed with hand-cranked devices. No casting.

Durable, high quality fixtures, built to last with 16 ounce copper:
Scofield Historic Lighting is proud to manufacture tomorrow's heirlooms.
